An NFL Legend Last Home Game Ends On A High Point

So today I as well as millions of others saw a NFL legend take his last run through his home team tunnel to be greeted with a thunderous applause as he played the game that had become his life. I am speaking none other than Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis.

Now I’m not a fan of the Ravens but I have to say that Mr. Lewis has been a true inspiration I remember when I found out he was retiring I found the situation surrounding his retirement well quite amazing I remember watching the press conference and him simply saying it was time for him to be a father.  One of two lessons that many can learn from him is being able to trust in your faith and walk away when it is time. In his press conference he speaks about wanting to be there for his kids and how it was time to move on to do other things in his life and while it was hard walking away from his teammates that they understood. Now if you do not know Ray Lewis had a great career as a football player playing all 17 seasons with the Ravens as well as many accolades behind his name.  The last lesson we can learn from Ray Lewis is knowing when to walk away is a good thing because it is better to walk away with grace then to be asked to leave with disgrace attached to your name.

Congrats to the Ravens on their win tonight and to Ray Lewis as he begin this new journey in his life.

In case your wondering yes they won their last game against the Colts 24-9! They will move on in their division.

Quotes by Ray Lewis

We get one opportunity in life, one chance at life to do whatever you’re going to do, and lay your foundation and make whatever mark you’re going to make. Whatever legacy you’re going to leave; leave your legacy!

Greatness is a lot of small things done well, stacked up on each other.
